What You Need to Know: 2024 Clean School Bus (“CSB”) Rebates Now Open

The 2024 CSB Rebates Application is Now Open – with applications due no later than January 9, 2025.

Districts that are successfully awarded rebate funds can use those for replacing existing school buses with clean and zero-emission buses and charging infrastructure.

With up to $965 million available through a lottery approach, there are a few notable changes to the round 4 process.

  • Funding awards for buses and EV charging infrastructure will be combined, so recipient districts will have the flexibility to determine the split between the two
  • The awards amount overall are slightly lower, with up to $325k (bus + charging infrastructure) for priority districts and $170k (bus + charging infrastructure) for non-priority districts.
  • Similar to Round 3, roughly 60% of the funds are designated for priority districts, with 40% intended for non-priority districts.
